Kansas City Current announces partnership with Worlds of Fun

The Kansas City Current have announced a new one-year partnership with Kansas City’s theme park, Worlds of Fun. 

Currently owned and operated by Cedar Fair Entertainment and founded in 1973 by Lamar Hunt, Worlds of Fun started as Kansas City’s Family Fun Adventure. Today it spans more than 235 acres with unique themed areas, a record-breaking waterpark with Oceans of Fun, and the resort for getaways.

As part of this partnership, Worlds of Fun will work alongside KC Current to celebrate Kansas City area families at select home matches this season. At six matches this season, Worlds of Fun and the KC Current will award six families that are actively engaged and making a difference in our community. At each match the “Families of the Match” will be presented with four all-inclusive Worlds of Fun single day admissions with meals and parking included. The families will be selected jointly by KC Current and Worlds of Fun.

We want to find ways to celebrate those in our community who are changing the next generation and encouraging them to leave KC better than they found it. We couldn’t think of a better way to do so than with a KC Current match day and a day-trip to Worlds of Fun with the whole family.”

A trip to CPKC Stadium is a world-class and history making experience. The Current mission is to be the best women’s football club in the world which aligns with the partnership philosophy of Worlds of Fun. Worlds of Fun’s mission is to give fans an experience they won’t forget; a trip around the world where thrill-seekers can experience world-record attractions, world-famous food, world-class events and world-changing fun. 

“Worlds of Fun is thrilled to announce this exciting new partnership with the KC Current,” Worlds of Fun Vice President and General Manager Rick Fiedler said, “We look forward to a long and beneficial relationship while supporting women’s professional sports and giving back to KC families at the same time.” 

This partnership will also give KC Current players and technical staff full-access to the park with season passes. Worlds of Fun will cross-promote the KC Current team by featuring players in content that is distributed across social media platforms and In-Park Fun TV monitors located throughout the park. The Teal Mobile will be making a visit to the park at a date later in the season and Worlds of Fun will host a KC Current Employee Appreciation Night for staff and their families. Worlds of Fun will also receive in-stadium digital signage during select home matches at CPKC Stadium, the first stadium purpose built for a women’s professional team in the world.
